PRESIDENT ABDULLAH GÜL HAS ALSO ATTENTED IN THE SIGNATURE CEREMONY OF THE FACTORY WHICH ELEKTROMED WILL LAUNCH IN INDIA.

 Elektromed*, one of the leading meter producers of the world, will produce electricity meters in India with the population of (the population of India) 1 billion.

 Concluded India project whose negotiations have lasted for a long time, Elektromed has agreed to establish an electricity meter production facility in principle of 50% partnership with Gloabtel Convergence Ltd. within Morakhia Group operating in the scope of copper and copper alloys for 40 years in Ahmedabad city of Gujarat state of India. Articles of partnership of Elektromed India Pvt. Ltd. has been signed at Turkey-India Business Forum which DEİK (Committee of Foreign Economical Relations) has organized in New Delhi, the capital of India on 9 February. In the signature ceremony where Ahmet Kaya, Board Chairman of Elektromed and Tushar Morakhia, Board Chairman of Gloabtel Convergence have attented; President Abdullah Gül, State Minister Mehmet Aydın and Rıfat Hisarcıklıoğlu, The Chairman of Union of Chamber and Commodity Exchanges and Anand Kumar Sharma, Minister of Trade and Industry have taken part.

Being planned to start production in the first quarter of 2010, Elektromed India will produce a special electronic electricity meter blocking 21 different methods of electricity frauds employed in India. Thanks to this facility, India will take the opportunity to be able to achieve the production and the sales of high technology electricity meters for both domestic market and export markets. Ahmet Kaya, Board Chairman of Elektromed has declared that they had established Elektromed India Pvt., in order to take an efficient part in this market having a great capacity and benefit from qualified labor force at a maximum rate underlining that there was a rapidly rising knowledge and the potential of qualified personnel in India. Tushar Morakhia, Board Chairman of Gloabtel Convergence, on the other hand, has stated that they targeted a turnover of 25 million USD through this plant to establish.

Underlined that they were the first and sole electronics focused producer among Turkish companies investing in India; Kemal Altun, Export Manager of Elektromed Türkiye, has declared that the target of Elektromed India was to achieve 1 million meters acquiring the domestic market production capacity of Turkey within 3 years. Kemal Altun has stated that Elektromed, forging ahead in the route of being a global company through the systems and meter technologies it has offered until today, would not get succeed in this route provided that it couldn’t ensure a high penetration of its products in the markets such as India. Altun has stated that Elektromed India projects had been a product of the decisions to open new production facilities to be able to provide rapid and quality service all over the world enhancing the production areas whose main base took part in Turkey. Declared that their competitiveness would increase through taking full part within the big markets by this means, Altun has cited that latest investment news might come from Elektromed within 2010 in parallel with this strategical decision they had taken.

Morakhia Goup and Gloabtel Convergence Ltd: Gloabtel Convergence Ltd., with whom Elektromed cooperates in principle of 50% partnership, is a Morakhia Group company operating in the scope of copper and copper alloys for 40 years in India. Morakhia Group having production facilities in 3 different locations of India established Gloabtel Convergence Ltd in 2000 deciding to take part in IT sector as well and put the first bidirectional AMR-remote reading-system of India into practice.
